Size and Change of Population

The total number of people living in a particular time in a particular area is known as a population. Whereas the total number of people which includes children, youths, men, women, and old people that live in a particular place in a particular area is known as a size of the population. It is the fixed number of single or individuals in a population. We all have seen that the size of the population keeps on changing in some area where the number of people is more and some area the number of people is less. The size of the population is always unstable. When the size of a population of particular or certain place or country increases or decreases then it is known as change in population. We all have seen in some place there are a number of people but in some place, there are less number of people. In our country, Nepal the census is taken in every 10 years. For example:on 2048 BS, the population of Nepal was 1,84,91,097 according to the census , whereas according to the census of 2058 BS, the population of Nepal was 2,31,51,422. Likewise, the population of Nepal is 2,64,94,504 according to the census 2068 BS. The census report shows that the population of Nepal is increasing day by day.

The population is always changeable. Sometimes the population increases up and sometimes it decrease down . The change in population brings lots of effects on the environment as well as in the life of the human. It affects our environment, health, employment etc. When population will be well balanced then there will be no any kind of problems but when the population will be not balanced or population will increase or decrease then there will be the problems of many things. Like if the population will be increased then there arise the problems such as lack of food, lack of drinking water, less employment, there will be the lack of the place for shelter due to which the environment starts to get polluted. Whereas if the population decreases then there will be lack human power and all the natural resources cannot be utilized properly . So, due to these type of reasons, the population should be always balanced. There are different types of things due to which the population is increasing and decreasing. The main factors are birth, death, and migration. These three things are the main factors which always brings change in the population. The birth always increases the population whereas death always decreases the population. The place where people migrate ,the population of that place will increase whereas the place from where people migrate, the population of that place decreases.
