Agricultural Activities of Nepal

Nepal is a developing country with an agricultural economy. The main occupation of Nepal is agriculture.The process of producing foods, vegetable, crops by cultivating land is known as agriculture. About 80% of people are involved in agriculture as their occupation. Agriculture is the base of the Nepalese people and also for Nepal. From the agricultural product, people earn income to run their livelihood.

In past, people used cow, buffalo, ox etc. for the cultivation of land and also used old materials. There were no modern equipment and technology for agriculture. But now people use modern equipment and technology for agriculture. They also use chemical fertilizers, seeds improve etc to make production well. In the past, people do agriculture only in the monsoon rain. But nowadays we can cultivate crops at any time whether it is monsoon or dry season because nowadays people use to pump water and fill the field at any time. From the construction of dam and irrigation, canal water can be supplied to the field.

Agriculture is the main source of income of Nepal. Farmers sell their products in the market at less price. Nepalese farmer gets low income although they struggle hard. They used that money to buy chemical fertilizer, modern equipment, seeds, and other needed things used in their daily life. The daily life of a farmer is depending upon the agriculture to run their livelihood.

In the agriculture of Nepal, there are lots of problems which farmers has to face. Farmers cannot get modern equipment, and other needed things for agriculture because of expensive. The government of Nepal is also impractical in this case because the government should also look after in the sector of agriculture. Due to lack of transportation facility, people can't get a good market for their product. Farmers are not educated and skilled for the betterment of the agriculture. So it is very difficult to improve the agricultural status of Nepal.

The government of Nepal should provide needed things and equipment in low price for the farmers to promote agriculture. Agriculture sector should be given more priority. Good market and prices for agricultural products should be decreased. Farmers should provide education facility and training for the betterment of agriculture. New equipment and modern technology should be provided to the farmers. Agriculture is the base of Nepalese people's life so we must focus on the agriculture to run our livelihood.
