CURRICULAR STRUCTURE

  • The first semester sets the stage for crisis management. Students explore the science of natural disasters and then delve into practical response strategies. They also develop strong communication skills, crucial for crisis leadership.
  • The second semester dives into crisis management with hands-on learning: data analysis, global context, social impacts, and research/communication skills. It wraps up with stress management, report writing, and a final term paper based on a crisis scenario fieldwork experience.
  • Semester three tackles biological/ecological disasters (e.g., floods, biohazards) and public health responses. It also covers social impacts and data analysis for diverse crises.
  • The final semester polishes research skills with a dissertation or thesis while exploring pressing issues: terrorism, organizational crisis response, and sustainability in crisis management.
