The environment is the place where we can find both living things and non-living things and whereas the population means the total number of people living in the particular place in a particular area . Both the population and the environment are related to each other. Nowadays the population is increasing rapidly. Due to population growth, we all arefacingdifferent types of problems. In our country, Nepal, the population growing rapidly. So, due to the growing population, the government are running different types of programmes to control the population growth.
There are the different measures which should be followed for population management in the Nepal. They are described below:
Equal behavior between Son and Daughter
Girl and boy both are the building blocks of the nation. They are the main parts of the nation. But still, there are lots of discrimination between son and daughter. People prefer boys than girls in the context of our country. Every couple wants to have a son rather than a daughter. In the willing of having a son, they give birth to more children increases the population. So, there should be the end of gender inequality. Both the girl and the boy should be treated equally which helps in the population management.
Extension of health services
Our health is our main wealth. Our country, Nepal is a developing country and still in many places of our country, there is a lack of many things like lack of road,lack of education facilities, lack of communication and lack of health facilities etc. In our country, there is high infant mortality rate which is due to the lack of health services or health facility. Due to the lack of health facilities, many mothers are dying during the time giving birth to the babies. If there will be proper health facilities then this type of problems may be solved which will help in population management.
Increase Employment to Women
Women are the main part of the country. Today's world is a modern world. People are very busy in earning money. People don't have time to born a baby or they don't have time to raise children. The people who do work give birth to very few number of children. People do different types of work like bee keeping, animal husbandry, vegetable and fruit farming etc. These types of activities help to increase the participation of women in income generation.
Marriage at appropriate age
Marriage is the important part in the lives of all the human beings. It helps for population management because it controls birth rate. The legal age of marriage for the male is 21 years and for the female is 18. If people married before this age then it will be very harmful for their health. If people do marry inappropriate age then they will give birth to at least one or two children. Therefore marriage at the appropriate age is useful for population management.
Women education and employment generation
The process of providing education to the women that may be formal education or non-formal education is known as women education. .In a family, it is said that if mother she is educated then the whole family will be educated. All the women are the main key of population management because if women are educated then the population can be managed as they are well known about the demerits of rapid population growth. If women is educated then she may have knowledge about methods of family planning by which it will help in population management.
Appropriate management of migration
The movement of people from one place to another place that may be inside the country or may be country to country is known as migration. People move from one place to another place for good facilities. We have seen the people from hills and mountain moving to terai region or people from rural area migrating to city or town. Due to this type of migration, the population distribution is uneven. So, to solve this problem, the government should provide an equal facility in every part of the country.
