Nepal is a Landlocked Country. It is surrounded by two countries. China lies on the east side and west. The North and south side of the country is covered by India. It is also a mountainous Country.It has three geographical zones. Himalayan, Mountainous, and the terai. Nepal is home of the Mount Everest which is the world's highest mountain

Location

The country of Nepal is in the Asia continent and the latitude and longitude for the country are 27.9389° N, 84.9408° E. Nepal lies in the northern hemisphere. It is located in the Central Himalayas. The country has an area of 147,181 square kilometres (56,827 sq mi). Nepal is also one of the world's most earthquake-prone regions.

Boundry

Nepal is separated from China through the Himalayan frontier. There is Tibetan Territory of China to the north. The two rivers Mechi in the east and Mahakali in the west are other natural boundaries between Nepal and India. There is the West Bengal state of India, in the east and Uttaranchal state in the West. The Southern border runs through the fertile plains, jungles and rivers. It occures Indian state of Bihar and UP. The Ten Yards 'No-man's Land' with pillar is the arbitrary boundary between Nepal and India in the South. Similarly, the Northern border has so many Himalayan peaks, and the borderline passes through the high peaks, mountains, gorges and the pasturelands.

Our Country Nepal is rectangular in Shape. It is wider in the west and extends from north-west to the south-east. Its length from the west to east is 885 km and its width varies from 241 km in the west to 145 km in the east. The average width is 193 km.

Size

Nepal has a total area of 147, 181 sq km. It covers 0.3% of the total area of Asia and 0.03% of the total land area of the earth. Nepal is larger in area than some of its neighbouring countries like Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Nepal is the smaller in comparison to China and India. Our Country Nepal is approximately 22 times smaller than India. China is 44 times bigger than Nepal.
