1. Literal Comprehension:
Anuradha Chaudhary, a Bangladeshi author, wrote a really wonderful essay titled " How Sane are We?" that focuses on the problems of the environment. She argues that people in today's world are careless and irresponsible when it comes to protecting the environment and wildlife. She contends that environmental degradation and heavy pollution are caused by human indifference, growing urbanization and industrialism. Scientists discovered in 1974 that chloroflurocarbnons, which are used as coolants in refrigerators and air conditioners, as foam-blowing agents, as spray can, and as cleaning agents, deplete the ozone layer, which shields life on earth from the sun's harmful UV rays. They cause ozone to be depleted, which increases the danger of skin cancer, cataracts, a suppressed immune system, hazards to the Antarctic food chain, harm to ecosystems and agriculture, and the extinction of some wild species. As a result, the world has been dominated by our collective inaction.
2. Interpretation:
This essay may be attempting to demonstrate to us the absurdity and carelessness of human nature for future generations of youngsters. People tend to be quite self-centered. They dont think about the future generation; they only consider their immediate surroundings. They had created dangerous chemicals and CFCs gas for use in computer chips and freezers. They make judgements, but they receive little support or action. Therefore, by choosing such politicians, we are destroying the environment, and they are destroying the future of humanity.
3. Critical Thinking:
- Are there no any trustworthy and responsible politician ?
- aren't the scientists to be blamed?
- Who invented CFC?
4. Assimilation:
After reading this essay, I realized how I have been careless about my environment and now i am careful and I motivate myself and others to be carefull about pollution and keeping environment healthy.
