Four Levels of No Smoke From the Chimney

1. Literal Comprehension:

The poem " No Smoke from the Chimney", written by Siddhicharan Shrestha, is a wonderful poetry that specially refers to the Rana Regime peiod. The Ranas' impact on Nepalese life is discussed in this poem. The poet states that he is unable to go with "Yamaha" because of lack of time. As a result, he asks that the death " not to call him." Because of his busy schedule, he doesnot have time to mop out the blood from his own hurt head. He firmly believes in the equality and freedom of all ordinary Nepalese citizens. He asks his family not to stop his advancing feet since he doesnt want to get drawn into blandishments and he is pressed for time.

The entire population of his nation is fighting and engaged in the fight forgetting about food and water, and are fighting for equality and freedom. He therefore desires to serve his country in the same manner as others. That is why the poet designated a liberation fighter as the speaker in this poem.

The speaker may be attempting to convey the idea that freedom is far more essential than food or the terror of dying. Therefore, after they have left their home for the sheets, folks do not deviate or stop. This poem does an excellent job of portraying the anti-Ranas democratic movement. The speaker tells us of our nation's great warriors who gave their lives as a sacrifice for their community and country. We members of the current generation ought to be aware of the struggles people undertook to preserve and advance democracy.

The loss of life could not deter them from bringing democracy to the nation; else, my generation wouldn't be living in freedom now. I now fully get why the martyrs in Nepal struggled for democracy. I'll also make an effort to speak up for people's rights, such as freedom of speech. In the face of injustice, I will not remain silent.
