ICT also includes the various services and applications associated with them, such as videoconferencing and distance learning, that plays a vital role in the creation of new media modes of interaction between people.Information and communications technology is used in most of the fields such as e-commerce, e-governance, banking, agriculture, education, medicine, defense, transport, etc.
With technological advances, advanced computing infrastructure,  sophisticated marketing strategies, and reduced cycle times with robotic process automation (RPA), ICT is playing a vital role.
Information and communication technology can be used in various fields, including: There are lots of uses of ICTs in everyday life. Some uses of ICTs in various fields are as follows:

Education

ICTs are playing the remarkable role in the education sector. Teachers use ICTs to research for teaching materials, participate in the online conference as well to aid their teaching. Students use ICTs as reference tool. They use Internet to search for their study materials. In an online system of study, students can access class notes, submit assignments and also join a discussion group with the help of ICTs. Researchers use ICTs to collect and process data. School administrators use ICTs for administrative purposes. Information and communication technology contributes greatly to education because it improves the way of education and provides a better educational environment, through the use of computers, tablets, data displays, interactive electronic boards, and others in the process of communicating information to students.

 

Banking

ICTs control the entire banking system that also includes "Electronic Banking Services". It is also known as the nerve center of the banking system around the world. Customers use ICTs to make transactions at 24 hours service centers. Business persons use ICTs to save their time by using online services. Bank administrators use ICTs to control the entire banking system. There are so many definitions of a bank given by various authorities.But,summarizing all the definitions,a bank is simply a financial institution that accepts deposits from surplus economic units of the society and advances it to deficit units through the process of financial intermediation.Banks are the institutions that assist in managing financial system of a country.The financial systems are the totality of financial arrangement,agents,institutions etc that interact with each other and the rest of the world to develop,foster and enhance economic growth and development of a country.A robust financial sytem is very vital to the health of any economy.

E-Commerce

Buying and selling goods by the use of an internet are known as e-commerce. E-commerce helps in boosting the economy. It makes buying and selling activities easier and faster. In an e-commerce sector, customers, suppliers and employees get benefits from the usage of ICT. Customers use ICTs to connected online with suppliers to purchase products. Suppliers use ICts to keep track of their transactions. Employees use ICTs to communicate with their customers for any inquiries. ICT and e-commerce are inseparable terms as the e-commerce industry is absolutely dependent on ICT for its operations and intensification. e-commerce is also referred to as application of ICT in business and commerce. ICT is an umbrella term which involves usage of computers, including hardware, software and networks used to communicate, store and manage the requisite information.

Health

ICT applications have been valuable resources in the medical field. They support the efficient exchange of information between health professionals, they enable transfer of patient records and can improve the quality of care provided by health professionals. Ct Scan, Ultra Sound, ECG are done by the help of ICTs to diagnosis different diseases. Information and communications technologies (ICTs) can play a critical role in improving health care for individuals and communities. By providing new and more efficient ways of accessing, communicating, and storing information, ICTs can help bridge the information divides that have emerged in the health sector in developing and new industrial countries—between health professionals and the communities they serve and between the producers of health research and the practitioners who need it. Through the development of databases and other applications, ICTs also provide the capacity to improve health system efficiencies and prevent medical errors.

Communication

ICT is Used for communication. Nowadays people are in touch with the help of ICT. Through chatting, E-mail, voice mail and social networking people communicate with each other. It is the cheapest means of communication. Information communication technology provides the society with new communication capabilities. People can now communicate with others using videos from others of different parts of the world, instant messaging, social media sites like face book, twitter which allows people to remain in contact and communicate and share information easily and on regular basis.

The world has become a global village. Internet and computer has made the communication process very fast and has also united people. At a click of a button one is able to know what is happening to different parts of the world.
