Applications of Computer

There are various applications of computer as a computer plays a great role in every field nowadays which include schools, offices, home, etc. In addition to this, computers are also used in the banking sector, hospitals, industries, data processing and management, railways, airways, research organizations, and so on.

•      Home

Computers are found in the home for several purposes. They are mainly used for entertainment purposes in home-like watching movies, playing games, running social media sites, online classes, etc. Computers are also useful for those employees who work from home.

•       Education Sector

Computers are also used as a learning tool in schools, colleges, and universities. It helps in the result processing, hand-outs preparations & student data record. The learning materials are kept effective by using different multimedia. Computer-Aided Learning (CAL), Computer-Aided Instruction (CAI) is also done through the computer.

Computers are applied in medicine, surgery, and research. The technologies like ECG (Electrocardiogram) do run by the digital, analog computers, and hybrid computers. In today’s world, multimedia kits for surgeons are also available to teach and learn surgery on patients. Nowadays, the concept of an expert system is also introduced in computer science. It helps to see the fetus in the mother’s womb. Doctors and surgeons use robotic surgical devices for critical and delicate operations.

Computers are used in industries in many ways. Robots are also used in the industrial sectors for complicated industrial processes. CAD (Computer-Aided Design) is used for designing and manufacturing in the industry. Nowadays online marketing has also widely come in use for selling goods and products. Industrial research, budgeting, process control all are computer-based. Huge industries use large machines which are operated by computers all the time.

•     Banking

In banks, computers are used for keeping records, bank account no. Computers are also used for accurate money transactions with customers and employees. It also helps in withdrawal and deposit of money through ATMs which is a mainframe computer. People can easily examine expenditures, sales, marketing through banking services.

•    Science and Engineering

In the field of engineering such as civil, electrical, aeronautics, chemical, a computer is a very essential tool. It helps in different kinds of researches, machine designs, building designs in 3-D, circuit engineering, etc. Through these models the teaching-learning process has become very effective.

The government uses the computer to manage its own operations. It is used for paying tax online, online forms submission has land details, etc. It also publishes notices from time to time about government level examinations and also other important information. Also the police department uses computers for easing their way of investigation by tracking, etc.
