Welcome to Tribhuvan University's School of Management (SOMTU), a prominent institution committed to promoting excellence in management education. SOMTU distinguishes itself as a leading business school in Nepal by emphasizing student-centered learning, worldwide viewpoints, and industry alignment. SOMTU, founded in 2012 as an autonomous institution under Tribhuvan University's prestigious Faculty of Management, has continually provided high-quality education to develop holistic, socially responsible, and talented workers. Our objective is to develop individuals who can not only satisfy the needs of today's organizations but also have the entrepreneurial mindset to start and expand their businesses.

Field Immersion

The MBA, MBA FC, and MBA IT students are involved in field-based project work in which students in the second semester visit various organizations and places for a week. The main purpose of such a visit is to enhance the contextual intelligence of students. Students will get an opportunity to understand the local business environment and develop their ability to work in diverse teams for management and innovation.

Industrial Tour

The students in MBA, MBA FC, and MBA IT are taken for industrial tours either in or outside Kathmandu Valley to expose them to the real operations of Nepalese organizations and different aspects of their management including finance and control. All the third-semester students are required to take part and submit reports of their industry visits. The SOMTU will bear lodging and transportation costs for the industrial tour and all other costs will have to be borne by students themselves.

Experiential Learning

Students in MBA, MBA FC, and MBA IT at the end of the third Semester shall be assigned to organizations for practical exposure and business orientations. The period of internship shall be ten weeks. At the end of the internship, the student shall prepare a report on the prescribed format and present it in a seminar organized by the School.
