Mid-West University (MU) is an autonomous and public institution of higher learning with the mission to serve the people of Nepal and enrich the global learning community by extending the advantages of higher education. Established by the Government of Nepal with a Parliament Act on June 17, 2010 AD under the concept of a multi-university system in the country, Mid-West University is a Federal University in Nepal. The University aims to promote the advancement of learning and dissemination of knowledge for the overall welfare of the nation.
The establishment of MU by locating it in the Karnali Province of Nepal represents the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream of the people of this area, who particularly showed applaudable example through their contribution to a fundraising program geared up for the establishment of this University.
During the years of study with a variety of dedicated lecturers and researchers, the University aims to help students enhance their capacity, promote the holistic development of their abilities and personality, and bring them to a deeper understanding of their future role in society.
A two-year professional master's program called the Master of International Cooperation and Development (MICD) aims to produce skilled workers with specific knowledge and useful tools to manage and lead development cooperation initiatives.
The goal of this program is to provide students with the academic background and practical knowledge—including project management skills—that they will need to work on development projects for national and international NGOs, UN agencies, public institutions, and other organizations.
Qualifications
All interested candidates with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an authorized university in any discipline are welcome to apply to MICD. Basic computer skills and a strong grasp of the English language are prerequisites.
Those who want to work in the public sector, national and international organizations, development initiatives, higher education, research institutions, and the corporate sector at both the national and international levels will find it useful. Annually, there is a call for admission, with an anticipated enrollment of approximately 35 students in the program. There's no upper age limit on applications.
