ABOUT CAMPUS

The Faculty of Engineering (FOE) offers bachelor's degrees in civil engineering (BE Civil) and computer engineering (BE Computer) at its School of Engineering, Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur. It plans to start a master's degree in Construction Project Management (MSc CPM) in the academic year 2023. The FOE aims to provide a high-class teaching and learning environment, promote quality technical education and produce competitive technical manpower for the national and international markets through its experienced faculties and well-equipped laboratory and library. With its highly competitive teaching staff, students get greater exposure to both professional and academic knowledge in the diverse fields of engineering. In addition, technical education at FOE would help foster the socio-economic development of the Far-Western region and the nation. The FOE has been working to extend its academic relationship and collaboration with the world-class institutions of different countries. 

Mission

The mission of the Faculty of Engineering is to deliver quality education and achieve excellence in teaching and research activities through state-of-the-art, high-technology engineering educational programs that provide students with the innovative and entrepreneurial skills to meet the needs of the industry and society and make them able to compete successfully in a global economy. The private sector, and academic institutions in Nepal and abroad specifically to enhance teaching-learning activities, research, mutual exchange programs and the creation of new engineering knowledge and technology transfer. achieve excellence in application-oriented research in the selected areas of technology to contribute to the development of the Far-Western region and the nation.

To become a centre of excellence in engineering education and research and produce globally competent professional minds upholding human values and ethics to serve society by taking part in industrial, scientific innovation, academic and entrepreneurship activities within the country and abroad.

MESSAGE FROM DEAN

On behalf of the Faculty of Engineering (FoE), I would like to welcome you to the Far-western University. The FoE has come a long way since the establishment of the University in 2010. Today, the Faculty is a vibrant entity where enrollment is growing, infrastructure (labs and equipment) is improving, and the programs are receiving national and international attention. This incredible growth is expected to continue in future too. It has been a leader in engineering education in the Far-western region of Nepal and aims to build educational programs that prepare its students to make a difference in the world by contributing towards societal development. Now, it has been offering Bachelor's degrees in Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering in its School of Engineering at Mahendranagar. We also plan to start a Bachelor of Architecture in the academic year 2024. With its aim to become a leading institution for higher education in the engineering field, the FoE is also going to start a master's degree in construction project management (MSc CPM) in 2023 and Structural Engineering in 2025 at its School of Engineering. In addition, we have proposed to establish a Centre for Engineering Research and Innovation at our Central Campus to fulfil the need to carry out research, development and innovation. The FoE has also been attempting to tie up with international Universities to promote mutual collaboration on research and education. We encourage our faculty members and students to conduct research and innovative work in the engineering field. Indeed, success in the engineering field requires more than a strong technical knowledge and the capacity to apply it to real-world problems. It also requires the ability to engage in close collaboration, as well as qualities like integrity, curiosity, creativity, open-mindedness and a willingness to engage in innovation.
