The Prime Minister's Office and the Council of Ministers have endorsed the recommendation of the High-Level Commission report 2073, which was released on April 20, 2017 (2074.01.07 B.S.), with relation to Tribhuvan University and Agriculture and Forestry University. On August 11, 2017, the Tribhuvan University Executive Council Meetings approved the establishment of the office of council ministers (2074.04.27 B. S).
Furthermore, on August 13, 2017, the Tribhuvan University Senate, chaired by the chancellor, approved the university's opening as a constituent campus under the IOE (2074.04.29 B.S.). The Tribhuvan University Executive Council met on March 10, 2019, 2075.11.26 B. S., and made a decision (number 2335) to start as a component campus under IOE under the name "Chitwan Engineering Campus." Therefore, 10th March.2019 is regarded as an establishment date of Chitwan Engineering campus.
Mission and Vision
This is possible only by setting a mission of quality engineering education in the frontier engineering areas relevant primarily to nation thereby enhancing national development process
The vision (Purpose) of the CEC strategic plan for a period of ten years (2020-2030) as;
“Sustainable Engineering Technical Campus: A center of excellence”.
If such a vision is realized then CEC will be able to contribute to achieve a Mission as: to provide quality engineering education and research in the engineering areas relevant primarily to nation”.
Currently the campus is offering a single program Bachelor of Architecture.
The Institute of Engineering's Dean Office created a feasibility study report, which was authorized by the faculty board of the Institute of Engineering on the basis of an on-site visit in February 2019, proposing to offer six bachelor's level programs at the Chitwan Engineering Campus in Rampur.
With a land area of forty bighas nineteen Khatta, this campus has the greatest land area among the four IOE campuses. The estimated cost in Nepalese currency for the development of physical infrastructure is approximately twenty arabs. The initial intake, which has 24 seats available, is currently pursuing their academic programs for a bachelor's degree in architecture.
