In 2010, the Center for Biotechnology was founded. Since its founding, it has focused on many biotechnological areas to improve the health of plants, animals, and forests. Molecular diagnostics, animal forensics, reproductive biotechnology, and animal genomics are the current study areas of the Center for Biotechnology. Detection, isolation, and characterization of plant and animal diseases are being conducted under molecular diagnostics in order to produce quick diagnostic tools.
The Center for Biotechnology is also concentrated on the characteristics of cattle breeds and how they relate to economically significant attributes.

Mission
One of AFU's strongest divisions is the Center for Biotechnology. This center's primary duties include conducting biotechnology-related academic, research, and extension activities. It operates in all allied fields including forestry, fishing, veterinary care, livestock, and agriculture.
The center's goal is to provide highly skilled human resources for the biotechnology industry on a national and worldwide scale. The center was founded to conduct research and academic activities related to agriculture, animal husbandry, and forest biotechnology.
