The Bishwo Bhasa Campus, also known as the Campus of International Languages (CIL), is situated on Pradarshani Marg in Kathmandu. It is the sole campus of Tribhuvan institution (TU), the oldest and most prestigious institution in Nepal, dedicated to teaching languages. The only campus in Kathmandu that offers language instruction is here. The Himalayan Language Program, which teaches Nepali, Sanskrit, Newari, and Tibetan, and the Foreign Language Program, which teaches English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, and Urdu, are the two language programs now in operation on campus. Italian and Arabic will be added to the list of foreign languages at the campus as well.
Other than English, language programs are provided as a two-year course split into four semesters. The 'Ordinary Level' is made up of the first two semesters, and the 'Advanced Level' is made up of the final two semesters. The third-year Post-Advanced course in the Nepali language program also covers Nepali grammar, history, culture, and literature. Additionally, a third-year Japanese language course has begun on campus. 'Basic English' and 'Advanced/Writing English' are the two levels of the English language program.
The faculty at Bishwo Bhasa Campus is highly qualified and experienced, and they come from both Nepal and beyond. Himalayan languages are taught by native speakers, whereas foreign languages are either taught by Nepalese teachers or by foreign native speakers of the corresponding language. Himalayan languages are only made available to non-Nepalese foreign students, while foreign languages are only made available to Nepalese students.
