2. Expressions : A mathematical operation ( such as addition, substraction, multiplication, or division) is combined with a variable, constant or constants to form an algebraic expression.
An algebraic expression is, as an illustration, 3x+5.
3. Equations : An equation is a claim that two expressions are equivalent to another. Finding the value(s) that satisfy the equation is how equations are commonly solved.
A formula would be 2x-7=15, for instance.
4. Simplifications : Algebraic expressions are made simple by combining like terms and using arithmetic operations. The same variables are raised to the same powers for similar words.
