The Gandaki university was established in 2019 by Gandaki Province Government to provide world-class education in keeping with the most recent international trends in university education. It is located in the beautiful city of Pokhara. It is also known as GU. Gandaki Province Government has incorporated the course “Bachelors in Sports Management”. The Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. Ganeshman Gurung says ‘’The course will be of four-year degree with eight semesters”. The newly appointed Chancellor further added “Sport is very essential means for the positive social change in modern society. It plays a vital role to inspire and engage our youth for the prosperity of the nation,” “But this is true that we are lacking behind in this matter, therefore, we have considered it in priority” he clarified.

According to Dr.Prakash Pradhan, 80% of the subjects are from sports and 20% of courses are from the core management stream. Furthermore, the syllabus has 52 titles divided into 8 semesters comprising 162 credit hours for 4 years.
