The mission of Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU), a public, autonomous university founded in Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, is to educate the people of Nepal and enhance the global learning community by applying core Buddhist values and advancing world peace.Ultimately, an Ordinance that was stated on March 16, 2061 B.S. at the 2nd World Buddhist Summit held in Lumbini was finally promulgated on March 14, 2061 B.S., marking the official establishment of Lumbini Buddhist University.
