St. Xavier's College in Kathmandu is a higher education institution founded and operated by the Nepal Jesuit Society. The Jesuits began their educational effort in Nepal in 1951 with the establishment of St. Xavier's School, Godavari, followed by St. Xavier's School, Jawalakhel, St. Xavier's School, Deonia, Moran Memorial School, Maheshpur, and St. Xavier's School in Sadakbari.

Since 1540, the Jesuits have served people of all faiths around the world as educators, scientists, explorers, and social reformers. The centuries-old tradition of serving others is the foundation of Jesuit education. Every institute and organization founded by the Jesuits in Nepal teaches students to live for God and lead for Nepal. The education program is intended to encourage critical thinking, good action, and service to others.
 

Vision

St. Xaviers College is a community of educators comprising its past and present students, parents, staff, management, and collaborators dedicated to providing higher education in Nepal in the Jesuit tradition of integrating intellectual growth with physical, spiritual, emotional, and social development through various studies and activities, thus becoming persons who relate positively and responsibly with the cosmos, self, others and the Transcendental, leading to all-inclusive transformation.

The ultimate objective of Jesuit education is the full growth of persons to become global citizens who are driven to action that is suffused with the spirit of compassion and selflessness.
