About
The Central Department of Economics (CEDECON), one of Tribhuvan University's (TU) largest and oldest departments, was founded in 1959. The Department is primarily a teaching faculty, but it also does research and publishes publications. With over 120 MA and 35 MPhil students enrolled each semester, CEDECON boasts highly qualified faculty members who are respected for their contributions to academia and industry both inside and outside of Nepal.
Academic Programs
- M.A.
CEDECON has been offering a Master’s level program in Economics since its inception in 1960. The students are awarded with Master’s of Arts in Economics (MA in Economics) degree after the completion of the prescribed course.
- M.Phil
The Central Department of Economics has introduced M. Phil. Degree in Economics since the academic year 2007. The objective of this course is to provide advanced and specialized study in Economics for further learning and research leading to a Ph.D.
- PhD in Economics
CEDECON offers a Ph. D. program at the initiation of the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, TU. The prospective students can follow two routes for enrollment in Ph D.
