Masters in Veterinary Science in Nepal

The two-year Masters in Veterinary Science degree at Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) in Nepal is also known as Veterinary Science.

M.V.SC. is a field of medicine that focuses on the identification, management, and prevention of illness, damage, and disorder in non-human animals and birds.There are just two universities in Nepal that provide Master of Veterinary programs: Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) and Tribhuvan University (TU).

Graduates in veterinary science can find employment in a range of settings, including zoos, government animal husbandry departments, chicken and dairy farms, wildlife sanctuaries, and other administrative and entrepreneurial roles.

Eligibility for admission

• Applicant must have passed Bachelor in Veterinary Science and Animal Health, securing at least second division. 
• Applicants must appear and pass the entrance examination held by the respective university.

Admission Procedure

1. The Postgraduate Program (PGP), IAAS, Rampur, Nepal, must receive completed application forms, the necessary fees, certified copies of the candidate's academic transcripts and certificates, and three copies of their most recent passport-size photo by the deadline.

2. The Postgraduate Program Committee will set the deadline for all admission paperwork to be received by the Postgraduate Program office from officially nominated candidates and international students.

3. Every year, the dates for admission, entrance exams, and applications will be publicized. The Institute will post the list of the chosen applicants who show up for the entrance exam. The authentic Character Certificate and Transfer/College Leaving Certificate from the last school attended must be submitted by the chosen candidates. Upon completing their undergraduate studies at another university, candidates must submit a migration certificate in order to be registered at Tribhuvan University.

5. PP size recent photo (3 copies)
6. Official Release Letter & Recommendation Letters
7. Work Experience Letter
8. Concept Note of Proposed Study
9. Letter of Sponsorship (Funded by sponsoring agencies)
10. The application fee paid receipt according to the preferred university (from the AFU or IAAS account section).

Colleges offering  Master of Veterinary Science in Nepal

Only two universities in Nepal offer the Master of Veterinary programs in Nepal — Tribhuvan University (TU) and Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU).

Under TU, only the Rampur campus in Chitwan offers this program to the students. Meanwhile, AFU provides this course under the Animal Science, VeterinaryScience and Fisheries faculty.
