If you're thinking about becoming a dentist and you're in Nepal, you might want to check out the Master of Dental Surgery, or MDS for short. It's a two-year program after you've finished your undergrad studies. Not a lot of colleges offer it, but it's a great way to dive deep into the world of dentistry. You'll get to pick a specialty, so you can really get into the nitty-gritty of what interests you, whether that's working on teeth, gums, or even doing dental surgeries.

Plus, you'll get loads of hands-on experience to make sure you've got the skills down. Now, it's not cheap – you're looking at spending anywhere between 8 to 25 lakh Nepali rupees, depending on where you go to school. But think about it, you'll be learning all about keeping smiles bright and healthy, fixing up jaws, and even how to handle gum infections. 

Eligibility 

A minimum of 50% must be earned in a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or comparable bachelor's degree for applicants. After completing their BDS, applicants must be registered with the Nepal Medical Council and have one year of clinical experience. Candidates must show up for the entrance exam and do well on it. Merit-based selection is used to choose students.

  • 200 Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Duration: 3 hours, including 2-time voluntary toilet break

    Clinical Dental Sciences Subjects (Oral Medicine and Radiology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontics, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry), Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Public Health Dentistry, Community Medicine and Biostatistics, Oral Pathology and Microbiology, Dental Implantology)--- 130 marks.
  • Basic Medical Science (Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Oral Biology, Dental Materials, Forensic Odontology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesia, NMC CPD Topics)--- 70 marks
