In Nepal, the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a four-and-a-half-year undergraduate program that prepares graduates to practice physiotherapy as qualified practitioners. Only two universities in Nepal offer this course: Kathmandu University (KU) and Pokhara University.

Physiotherapy practice began in Nepal 45 years ago, with some health professionals promoting the benefits of physiotherapy for patients. Few nurses at government hospitals were given physiotherapy training and remained to work as therapists.

Aims of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)

Eligibility

Anyone who wants to pursue a higher degree of education in a physiotherapy course must achieve the following criteria:

  • They should have finished their 10+2 education or a similar level in science, taking Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • Should have received at least 50%, 2.4 CGPA, or a C+ grade in aggregate.
  • Should have passed the university's admissions test with a minimum score of 50%.

Fee Structure

 

The fees for the BPT course are determined by a variety of criteria. One of these is the type of institution that offers the program. Private colleges are more expensive than public campuses.

Aside from that, BPT course prices are nearly identical across all universities. The anticipated range is NPR 6,00,000 to NPR 8,00,000.

Entrance Examination

To study Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) in Nepal, students must first take and pass a normal medical entrance exam.
