MSc in Wildlife Protected and Biodiversity Conservation at Tribhuvan University is a two-year program divided into four semesters. It is designed to prepare professionals with advanced skills in wildlife management and biodiversity research techniques.

To develop professionals equipped with tools, methods, and techniques for wildlife research and management.
To supply skilled manpower to various sectors involved in biodiversity conservation.
To offer ecological knowledge for species, habitat, and landscape-level planning and management.
Key Features
Evaluation and Examination System
Assessment includes internal evaluations, practical exams, and final written exams. To pass, students must achieve at least 40% separately in theory, practical, and internal assessments. The thesis is graded by the Research Assessment Committee (RAC).
Practical components involve field exercises, lab work, and desk-based analysis. Students are required to submit reports for each practical task in a specified format. Evaluation is based on attendance, report quality, and viva performance. Internal assessment includes field excursions, group and individual assignments, case studies, presentations, and term papers, with criteria shared in advance by the respective faculty.
Final written exams are held at the end of each semester. Students must pass internal assessments to be eligible to sit for these exams. Final results are classified as:

Medium and Methods of Instruction
English is the medium of instruction for all MSc programs under the Institute of Forestry. Each course is managed by a faculty or visiting professor serving as the course coordinator. Teaching methods include lectures, tutorials, lab and field work, group discussions, and individual or group assignments.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a four-year BSc in Forestry from Tribhuvan University or any other institution recognized by TU, with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
Admission Requirements
Documents to Submit:
Academic transcripts from a BSc in a related field
Migration certificate and equivalency certificate (if not from TU)
Character certificate
Citizenship certificate (for Nepalese applicants)
Three recent passport-sized photographs
A no-objection letter from the Campus Chief (for IOF staff quota)
Financial support letter (for foreign applicants)
Entrance Examination:
All Nepalese candidates must take an entrance test with objective questions on general knowledge, forestry, and subject-specific areas. The exam carries 300 marks, and candidates must score at least 120 (40%) to qualify. The merit list is based on 80% entrance marks and 20% BSc marks. Foreign applicants are selected based on undergraduate performance.
Vacant staff and foreign student seats will be shifted to the full-fee-paying category if unfilled.
