Exam Type


MDS in Conservative Dentistry is a three-year program offered at UCMS, Bhairahawa. Admission is highly competitive as only one seat is available each year.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have a BDS degree or its equivalent from institutions recognized by the Government of Nepal.
They must be registered with the Nepal Medical Council.
Foreign candidates need to be registered with the relevant medical council of their home country.
Applicants should have at least one year of work experience.
Candidates must score a minimum of 50% (pass marks) in the entrance examination conducted by the Medical Education Commission to qualify for the merit list.
Entrance Exam Format
The exam consists of multiple-choice questions with a single best answer.
Each question has four options: A, B, C, and D.
There are 200 questions in total.
The questions are divided into three categories based on difficulty: Recall (30%), Understanding (50%), and Application (20%).
The exam duration is 3 hours, including one optional toilet break.
