Graduate Research Project
Students must complete a research project related to information technology, culminating in a report of around 30,000 words. The evaluation consists of 75% for the written report and 25% for the viva-voce. The Graduate Research Committee at SOMTU appoints external examiners for evaluation.
Assessment and Evaluation
Students are evaluated through a mix of continuous in-semester assessments and semester-end exams. The Faculty of Management (FOM) holds final authority over semester-end evaluations, while course instructors manage internal assessments.
In-Semester Evaluations
Internal assessments make up 50% of the grade and include class presentations, case studies, assignments, tests, and more. A minimum GPA of 2.7 (Grade B-) is required to qualify for the semester-end exams.
Assessment Methods
Assessment techniques include written exams, group and individual presentations, essays, financial reports, literature reviews, and research-based projects. Interactive classes and eLearning tools provide continuous feedback.
Semester-End Exams
The semester-end exam carries 50% of the total weight and consists of analytical and case-based questions. Each exam lasts three hours, regardless of the course credit.
Attendance Policy
The program is intensive and requires at least 80% attendance for students to be eligible for semester-end examinations.
