The Institute of Engineering (IOE) Pulchowk Campus admits 20 students annually into the Master of Science (M.Sc.) program in Geo-Technical Engineering.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to this Master’s program, candidates must have completed a BE in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree.
Candidates should have undergraduate grades well above average, meeting or exceeding the standards set by the IOE Faculty Board. Additionally, they must achieve the minimum required score on the entrance examination conducted by the IOE Entrance Board (or as recommended by the special entrance committee for foreign applicants).
Note: Equivalence refers to degrees obtained from institutions other than Tribhuvan University, recognized as equivalent by TU for the same discipline.
Admission Process
Applicants interested in appearing for the entrance exam must fill out and submit the online application form by the deadline specified by the Entrance Exam Board. The steps are as follows:
Deposit the application fee for the entrance exam into the designated bank account as mentioned in the official notice, using a specially prepared voucher that includes the applicant’s name and date of birth. The voucher number must be entered in the online application.
Choose the appropriate entrance stream.
Complete all required fields in the application form without skipping any sections.
Upload a recent color photograph (following prescribed specifications) along with one of the following identification documents:
Citizenship certificate
Passport
Last exam admit card
If any corrections are needed after submission, candidates must pay an additional fee for editing up to six normal text fields. For changes to name, photo, or ID documents, a higher fee applies at ICTC, along with submission of a correction request letter and payment voucher.

One seat each in the regular and full fee categories is reserved for female candidates.
One seat is reserved for IOE faculty members. Priority for this seat is given first to permanent faculty, then to contract faculty with at least five years of service. If no applicants qualify for the IOE reserved seat, it will be added to the full fee category.
A quarter of the sponsored seats are reserved for foreign students.
Sponsored Quota Priorities
Candidates from government offices and government-owned organizations or companies.
Candidates from other organizations.
If no applications are received for the sponsored or foreign categories, those seats will be allocated to the full fee category.
