Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Aquaculture – Tribhuvan University
M.Sc. in Aquaculture is a two-year postgraduate academic program offered by Tribhuvan University. The main goal of this program is to provide students with both practical skills and theoretical knowledge across different areas of aquaculture. Students will get exposure to various fields before focusing their master's thesis on a specific area such as fish breeding, fish nutrition, production technology, or other areas like water quality or product quality.
The final thesis project usually takes place over the span of one year and allows flexibility in choosing the topic and location.
Eligibility
To apply for this program, candidates must have secured at least a second division in any one of the following degrees:
B.Sc. Agriculture (B.Sc. Ag.)
B.Sc. Animal Science (B.Sc. An.Sc.)
B.Sc. in Aquaculture/Fisheries
Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)
M.Sc. in Zoology with Fisheries as an elective subject
Entrance Examination
The entrance exam carries 100 marks, and candidates must score at least 50 marks to qualify.
The exam consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and lasts for 90 minutes.
Questions are based on subjects relevant to aquaculture and related sciences.

If two candidates score the same in the entrance exam, their Bachelor’s GPA/percentage will be used as a tiebreaker. If there is still a tie, marks in Biology, Chemistry, English, Math, and Physics (in that order) will be considered.

Applicants must submit the following documents:
Citizenship certificate or passport
Academic transcripts and certificates from SLC level onward
Migration certificate (if graduated from a university other than TU)
Equivalence certificate (for degrees from other institutions)
Grade conversion certificate (if marks are in grade format)
Three recent passport-size photos
Official leave or recommendation letter (for applicants who are government, INGO, or NGO employees or foreign nationals)
Sponsorship letter (for those receiving financial support from an agency)
Payment receipt for the application and entrance exam (from the IAAS account section)
