About the Institute

The Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS) is the sole institute under Tribhuvan University dedicated to providing advanced academic education in agriculture and animal sciences in Nepal.

Admission Information

1. Admission Requirements

1.1 Open Competition

• Applicants for the M.Sc. in Animal Science must hold a Bachelor’s degree in B.Sc. Agriculture, B.Sc. Animal Science, B.V.Sc. & A.H., or an equivalent qualification.

• The undergraduate program must have been taught in English.

• Candidates should have graduated with a minimum of Second Division or an equivalent grade.

• Candidates must successfully pass the entrance examination conducted by IAAS for the admission year.

• Final admission will be determined based on the merit list generated from the entrance exam results.

2. Admission Procedure

• Completed application forms, the required fees, certified copies of academic transcripts and certificates, and three recent passport-sized photographs must be submitted to the Postgraduate Program Office (PGP), IAAS, Rampur, Nepal, before the specified deadline.

• The Postgraduate Program Committee sets the deadline for receipt of all admission documents, including those from officially nominated and foreign candidates.

• Each year, the deadlines for application submission, entrance examination, and admission will be publicly announced.

• The list of candidates eligible to appear for the entrance examination will be posted at the Institute.

• Selected candidates must submit original Transfer or College Leaving Certificates and Character Certificates from their previous institution.

• Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degrees from other universities are required to provide a migration certificate for registration with Tribhuvan University.
