Master of Arts (MA) in Geography is a two-year academic program divided into four semesters. This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and techniques needed to understand geographical concepts and issues, carry out research, contribute to education, and support sustainable development efforts.
The curriculum includes key areas of physical geography, human geography, and spatial planning and management. It also emphasizes the use of modern geographical tools and techniques. The syllabus has been updated with the input of experienced faculty members and experts to reflect current global and local issues related to geography. Through this course, students will be prepared to analyze and address various natural, human, and spatial challenges.
Eligibility
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Geography or in another subject recognized by Tribhuvan University.
Admission Criteria
To get admission into the MA in Geography program, candidates must take and pass the entrance examination conducted by the Dean’s Office or the Central Department of Geography (CDG), Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Candidates who do not attend the exam or fail to meet the minimum required score will not be admitted.
Admission is strictly based on the merit list and is subject to the enrollment capacity of the Central Department of Geography or the respective campus.
