Situated in Gwarko, Lalitpur-17, the Himalayan Institute of Science and Technology (HIST) is associated with Purbanchal University. The college is located next to Asian Engineering College and is easily accessible from the Gwarko junction road.

HIST Engineering College is one of the most reputable and well-established colleges in Nepal, having been founded in 2002 (2059 BS). It provides morning academic programs for bachelor's degree (6:30 am–12:30 pm) and evening programs for master's degree (5:30 pm–8:30 pm).
